Correspondence, manuscripts, poetry, essays, illustrations, published works, school assignments and records and memorabilia concerning Siegel's personal life and his literary career. Memorabilia and Biographical series (ca. 1 1/2 feet) includes childhood items, academic material and Whale Society material. Siegel's collected correspondence (ca. 5 feet) is arranged chronologically (1950-1997) and contains answered and undated correspondence and greeting cards. Prominent correspondents include Marsha Lee Masters, Clyde Fixmer, Nuala Archer, and Madeleine L'Engle. Book manuscripts (3 1/2 feet) are arranged by publication date and include 2 unpublished manuscripts, "The Man Who Could Fly" and "The Worm of Grog." Poetry manuscripts (ca. 3 feet) are arranged alphabetically and contain published and unpublished poems arranged with revisions. One audio tape is included of Siegel reading his work.
